The house lies within the urban area in Almonaster la Real, a small town situated in the middle of one of the most important nature reserves in Andalusia, the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, which occupies all the north of Huelva province.
The lanscape, extending over meadows and low elevations covered predominantly with woodland (holm oaks, cork oaks and chestnut trees –hence the name of the house-) and scrubland, is cleaved through by numerous streams, forming an extraordinarily beautiful and attractive scenery.
Almonaster’s urban area, declared as a common asset for its cultural interest, means a neat example on the local architecture. A quiet, withdrawn village, clean and careful, at the foot of its castle and of its rare mosque-church, Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. You should also visit San Martín parish church and Santa Eulalia chapel.
There are several restaurants and terraced bars in the village. Besides, it has a public health centre and a municipal swimming-pool.
